Greetings total sporters – I was searching for a slightly inspiring intro to this week's enews, yet failed dismally. So, I decided instead on sharing some of the books I've read, that have filled me with inspiration over the past year or two. I'm not sure if you're like me, but whenever I'm in a bookshop, I search for the books and stories around running, in particular stories of people doing remarkable things. What I've discovered is that there's a bit of a shortage out there, but what is out there are some pretty awe inspiring and interesting tales.
So here we go, try these if you're looking for reading fodder;
"What I talk about when I talk about running" – Haruki Murakami
"Extreme Running" - Kym McConnell & Dave Horsley
"Running through the wall – personal encounters with the ultra marathon" – Neal Jamison
"Pole to Pole – one man, 20 million steps" – Pat Farmer
If you're not inspired or enthused after reading these books, you might want to check that you're still alive...! and if that's not enough and you're looking for further inspiration, then read on to see what great events are heading your way over mad May...
